Comparing my return to a friend's was always the wrong measurement. I built two benchmarks of my own instead, and this year one of them said something I didn't like.
Very specific. Makes sense to measure your portfolio performance against the benchmarks you mentioned. It is liberating not to compare yourself to everybody, truly. I can relate.
